The walls are moved, the size of the rooms are changed, the interior is restored … Twohundred and fifty rooms and suites are well-known luxury hotel Sacher in Vienna is currently being reconstructed and modernized.

From the ”old” look will remain just outside the hotel walls. Inside the hotel there will be displacement of the walls, or until they are ”narrowing”. Number of rooms, however, will remain unchanged. The reconstruction of this world-famous five-star hotel will be invested between 12 and 14 million euros.

Traditional floors will be totally refurbished. Hotel rooms will be adapted to the demands of today’s luxury guests. Hotel rooms should take the form which suits the present time. This means a smooth, straight lines, but with the highest standards when it comes to the value of the selected materials. Rooms will receive new furniture, which will generally be more modern style.

A piece or two will, however, take the old furniture. What will not change when it comes to the look of the interior are original historicalpaintings on the walls and luxurious crystal chandeliers. Each bathroom will be of marble and have next to the former baths and shower. The highlight of the technical equipment of bathrooms - mirrors with built-in TVs.

Works on the changes at the start are still in the summer last year and the first roomhave been completed. Despite renovations, the hotel operates normally and, according to the director, the reconstruction of this luxury building in the center of the ”imperial city”should be completed by November this year.
